The Chainsmokers members
The original group was made up of Pall and former DJ Rhett Bixler, but were re-formed in 2012 when Bixler stepped away from the duo and Taggart stepped in. The two were studying at New York universities, both already starting their DJ careers individually. Whilst Pall studied music business, future member Taggart was working in an art gallery and uploaded DJ sets to SoundCloud from time to time. Taggart brought first-hand ambition from his experience of meeting David Guetta and Daft Punk in Argentina at the age of 15.
Interestingly, this is the exact route the Chainsmokers have taken in order to achieve global success. First in 2012/2013, they collaborated with the beautiful Indian actress Priyanka Choprato to produce singles like “Erase" and “The Rookie”. The association with superstars from different nationalities was extended with their single "Inside Out" co-produced alongside Swedish sensation Charlee.
The past few years has been equally interesting for the EDM DJ duo. The multi-platinum artists made a headline for themselves while performing at the Ultra Music Festival, where both Pall and Taggart publicly denounced US president Donald Trump earning them a huge amount of respect amongst young adults. In July, the combination of this stunt and the combined talent of the duo DJs with singer Halsey took their song "Closer" to the coveted No.1 spot on both sides of the Atlantic. The Chainsmokers can boast having 5 awards at the 2017 iHeart Radio Music Awards, a Grammy Award, and an MTV Award. With this recent rise to the limelight, make sure you buy your Chainsmokers tickets promptly!
