A career from the family restaurant to the world stage
Born 1981 in a western province of South Korea, Park Hyo Shin started to show his vocal talent at a very young age when he was singing traditional Korean "trot" songs to the small audience of his family’s restaurant. So unique was his voice that people would return to the restaurant just to listen to him sing. Reaching high-school age, he decided that singing is in his destiny and he started taking part in a variety of competitions, winning most of them. After going through a few training programs at Korean entertainment companies, he met composer Hwang Yoon Min, who after hearing Park’s gifted voice offered to help support him release his debut album "Things I Cannot Do For You". It sold nearly 500,000 copies, getting Park into the charts for the first time. Especially his performance at the KBS TV show of "Lee Sora's Propose" saw his popularity skyrocket. Since then Park has released a further six studio albums and countless singles, all placing in the top 10 of the Korean charts. The height of his popularity became visible on 30 April 2018 when he released the single "The Other Day" at 6am local time. The early days of his singing career saw Park appearing mainly in TV shows and as supporting act to other K-Pop groups. Only years later did he start to headline his own concerts as well go on international tours, mainly in Asia however also as far as Europe and Australia.
