The group has achieved things in just a few years that many artists would take life-time to acquire! Recognition from critics and overwhelming commercial success the band certainly can't complain! You may be surprised to find that the band's leap to fame, actually originates from an Seattle-based radio station, KEXP, in which the radio actually recorded the band perform from a living room of all places!
Needless to say, since then Of Monsters and Men have shown no signs of slowing down. Suffice to say, you've still got the chance to grab Of Monsters and Men tickets before they run out. Although, let's face it you'll have to hurry!
Of Monsters and Men crossed over from Iceland’s music scene in 2011 bolstered by their defiantly cheerful, horn heavy single “Little Talks.” The indie folk-rock quintet have, with their early June 2015 release of Beneath the Skin, recorded three albums since winning Iceland’s Musiktilraunir (‘Music Experiment’ national competition) in 2010. Their profile rose a bit higher by contributing the mournful, slightly militaristic “Silhouettes” to the Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack, playing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and adding their “Sinking Man” tack to famed zombie-drama The Walking Dead. Nanna Bryndis Hilmarsdottir and Ragnar Porhallsson’s alternately pure or brassy vocals bounce off each other as they accompany themselves on guitars. Brynjar Liefsonn adds his guitar, backed by Kristjan Pal Kristjansson on bass and Arnar Rosenkranz Hilmarsson on the drums.
