Oakland Athletics
Buy Oakland Athletics tickets to see some of the best players in baseball at their home venue, the Oakland Coliseum in California. The franchise was immortalized in the 2003 book Moneyball and then its later 2011 film adaptation starring Brad Pitt. The book (and film) looks at the team's (and manager Billy Beane's) analytical, sabermetric approach to being able to compete competitively in a league where the big-money clubs, like the Yankees, always seem to dominate.
Oakland Athletics History
The A's were founded in 1901 in Philadelphia as the Philadelphia Athletics, they won 5 World Series up until 1955 when the franchise moved from Philadelphia to become the Kansas City Athletics. Then, in 1968, the team moved again and became Oakland Athletics. They won three successive World Series between 1972-1974, adding a further crown in 1989. In total Oakland Athletics have won 9 World Series, the third most of all MLB teams currently playing (behind the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals). The A's dominated baseball in the 1970s thanks in no small part to legends of the game like Reggie Jackson and Rollie Fingers. Come and see if the team can bring back this period of dominance and get Oakland Athletics tickets today.
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum
The Athletics play their home games at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, which they share with NFL team the Oakland Raiders. It is the 8th largest MLB stadium, but, interestingly, the 2nd smallest NFL stadium. The stadium was given the dubious distinction of being listed as the worst stadium in the MLB by USA Today, their reasons being that it is often empty and sometimes smells of sewage. Having said that, you can still watch world-class baseball played live in front of thousands of fans, so it's not all bad. Get your A's tickets today!
