BamBam: K-Pop from a Thai singer
BamBam is a Thai artist who moved to South Korea as a young teenager to advance his music career. In January 2014, after years of training at the acclaimed JYP Entertainment Company, he made his debut as part of the newly-formed K-Pop boy group GOT7. The release of their first single "Girls Girls Girls" was soon followed by their debut EP "Got It?", showcasing a likable mixture of K-Pop, hip-hop and rap coupled with high-energy dance routines featuring martial arts elements. Today barely in his twenties, the artist is an accomplished singer, dancer, songwriter and record producer, well suited and equipped for the frenzied world of K-Pop. From Thailand to the top of the K-Pop world
Little did 13-year old Kunpimook Bhuwakul know what would be in store for him when he stepped onto the flight from Thailand to South Korea. His dream was to become a famous singer and dancer. Discovered by a scout during an audition contest in Bangkok, he was taken under the wings of media giant JYP Entertainment who put him through their rigorous training programme that has spawned numerous successful K-Pop groups in the last two decades. While training, BamBam appeared in a dance project called "We Zaa Cool" with fellow Thai artist Lisa, who is now part of the K-Pop girl group Black Pink. However, it was the debut with K-Pop group GOT7 that shot him to fame. Their first EP album went straight to number one on the Billboard World Albums chart and caught the attention of Japanese media conglomerate Sony Music Entertainment who signed GOT7 shortly after their debut. The singer was soon on his way to the first tour in Japan, instantly earning a huge fan base. But it was the year 2015 that turned him into a real world star. After winning two Korean "New Artist Awards" at the Golden Disc Awards and at the Seoul Music Awards with GOT7, he starred in the band’s web drama "Dream Knight" which won three acting awards in July 2015. Album three and four as well as multiple tours through Asia and Australia concluded an immensely successful year for the talented singer. There was only on way to go in the following years and that was up. Their 2018 single "Look" topped the iTunes international album charts in twenty countries on three continents, in addition to top five places in various off-line charts. The Thai artist has definitely made his dream come true with talent, dedication and hard work. You can now buy or sell BamBam tickets at StubHub.
